Entry level position in the field of Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Services. Excellent opportunity to start your career and advance with training and experience.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a science-based field (i.e., environmental, biology, chemistry, engineering). The ideal candidate must possess strong technical writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. Work experience in the fields of Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Environmental Safety and Compliance, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials control, and/or other construction trades is a plus. Applicant must be willing to travel locally, nationally, and up to 75% of the time, with occasional night and weekend work. Familiarity with MS Office programs a plus.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection on assignments.
• Assist with generation of written proposals to clients for a variety of projects.
• May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.

Job Duties

Building inspection for the purpose of identifying asbestos containing materials (ACM):
• Inventory suspect building materials
• Collect bulk material samples of suspect ACM for submittal to laboratory
• Assess physical condition and quantify material(s)
• Create a sample location diagram
• Write a report detailing the findings.

Project Supervision during Asbestos Abatement:
• Successful completion within AIHA’s Asbestos Analyst Registry Program
• Onsite oversight of asbestos abatement contractor activities
• Onsite preparation of equipment and the collection & analysis of air samples for fiber content (PCM analysis)
• Document Contractor activities and maintain a daily project log
• Create sample location diagrams
• Write a closeout report

Indoor Air Quality Investigations:
• Conduct visual surveys and document existing building conditions
• Use of various meters and instruments to collect onsite data
• Collect samples using various EPA/OSHA methodology of various indoor contaminants for submittal to laboratory
• Create sample location diagrams
• Write a final report discussing sample results, observed building conditions and provide conclusions and recommendations.

• Lead Based Paint Inspections
• Occupational Exposure Assessments
• Radon Measurement (Field Technician, Professional Radon Measurement Professional)
• WELL Performance Testing and LEED Verification
• Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM standards
