Environmental Researcher Job Summary:

This role is responsible for conducting environmental research using satellite imagery and sensor data. The successful candidate will analyze environmental events detected from satellite imagery and sensor data from various satellites.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in remote sensing, GIS, oceanography, physical meteorology, computer programming, and/or project management. They should be able to provide analysis of satellite imagery, integrated with ancillary datasets, to create briefings and products that enable users to mitigate disasters and environmental hazards.

Main Responsibilities:
• Analyze satellite imagery and sensor data to detect environmental events.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of satellite imagery and its science.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior researchers as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in remote sensing and GIS.

Requirements:
• 2 years of experience in meteorology, oceanography, remote sensing science, GIS, or similar area.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Aptitude and desire to do daily analysis for tracking events.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
