Job Description

Georgia Public Broadcasting is seeking an experienced Environmental Reporter to cover environmental and agricultural issues in Coastal and South Georgia. This part-time position offers editorial autonomy and requires participation in daily meetings and story pitching. The reporter will work approximately 20 hours per week, filing stories for radio, digital, and social media. The role is remote, allowing work from anywhere.
Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is hiring an experienced reporter to cover the environment, climate, and
agricultural resources of Coastal and South Georgia and to report on the impact of the changing planet on the people,
places and environments of the region. This position is based in Savannah and will have significant editorial and
creative autonomy while operating under GPB’s editorial standards and review process. The reporter will be
expected to attend daily news meetings, pitch stories and participate in edit sessions with editorial supervisors while
working an average of approximately 20 hours per week. They will be expected to file for GPB News across radio,
digital and social media. This position will report to GPB’s News Director. GPB is a statewide dual licensee
comprised of 9 PBS television stations and 22 NPR radio stations that broadcast across the state of Georgia.
