About the position

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Junior Environmental Project Manager for immediate employment in our Orange, Long Beach, Los Angeles, or Westlake Village, California offices. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects, such as environmental justice, remediation, or Brownfields projects. The Junior Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for understanding site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients. This role requires the overall management of projects, establishing project-specific objectives, and providing management and guidance to AECOM staff, subcontractors, and vendors. The successful candidate will engage with existing and potential clients regarding AECOM's service capabilities and services, provide mentorship to staff, and oversee the delivery of projects in accordance with specifications, budget, and schedule. Key responsibilities include determining and defining project scope and objectives, supervising the management of all project phases, predicting resource needs, and managing resources effectively. The Project Manager will also provide technical oversight and quality control, deliver consistent project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress, and identify, mitigate, and manage project risks. Consistently delivering profit margins as planned is also a critical aspect of this role.

Requirements
• BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
,
• Two or more years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records Check and background check.
,
• US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
,
• Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves
• 10+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development experience.

• Licensed in the State of California (Professional Engineer or Geologist).
,
• Experience working with Local and State of California regulatory agencies.
,
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (current).
,
• PMP certification.
,
• Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
