This is a remote opportunity reporting into our Columbus, OH, office location and can be based in any of the following cities:Cincinnati, OHCleveland, OHColumbus, OHChicago, ILIndianapolis, INFT. Wayne, INMinneapolis, MNDetroit, MIAnn Arbor, MIRoles and Responsibilities:The primary focus for this Environmental Project Manager will be natural resource permitting for transmission lines and substations in the Midwest states. Other responsibilities would include transmission line and substation routing and siting. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills.Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, siting and routing specialists, planners, and permitting and environmental specialistsClient coordination and quality control of natural and cultural resource deliverablesPreparing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budgetProviding advice on natural resource state and local permittingPerforming routing/siting studies and analyses and preparing associated reportsParticipating in the preparation of state applicationsUp to 10% travel is expectedRequired Education/Experience:B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related degreeEight (8) + years managing natural and cultural resource permittingExpertise and understanding of permitting requirements in IN, MI, OH, MO, and ILExtensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation is requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and multi-tasking ability, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staffDesired Education/Experience:Midwest expertise in siting/routing, environmental planning, and analysis, state siting applications, technical writing in electric transmission lines and substationsExperience preparing applications for submittal tostate public utility commissions/boardsis highly desirableAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
