ABOUT THE POSITION

Environmental Project Manager – Site Investigation & Remediation | Hybrid | Bedford, NH

VHB has an immediate need for an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice in our Bedford, New Hampshire office.

Responsibilities
• Oversee a variety of environmental and/or site investigation and remediation work.
• Prepare and review technical documents and reports with a high level of proficiency.
• Work in a fast-paced team environment where there are several projects proceeding at any given time.
• Mentor junior staff regarding proper field sampling and monitoring procedures related to soil and groundwater sampling collection, monitoring well installation, construction oversight, etc.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, review invoices, and communicate with clients.
• Work on construction projects (e.g., for transportation agencies, developers, etc.) and preparing the associated submittals such as Soil and Groundwater Management Plans.
• Preparation of ASTM Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for buyers, developers.
• Maintain client relationships, enhance VHB’s visibility and actively participate in business development.
• Manage time appropriately to produce high-quality products for VHB’s clients.
• Participation with professional organizations and continuing professional education to remain up-to-date on current regulations, innovative technologies, and other topics that impact the environmental profession encouraged.

Skills and Attributes
• Ability to work in field and office settings, though this role is primarily office-based.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exemplary writing skills and the ability to perform detailed reviews of documents prepared by others.
• Motivated and have the ability to problem solve, be adaptable, and work in a team environment.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related science, geology, civil or environmental engineering, or related field of study required.
• Master’s Degree a plus and may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• 8 to 11 years of professional environmental/remediation consulting experience required.
• 11 to 15 years of site investigation & remediation experience preferred.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certificate and current 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher required.
• Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer certification in the State of New Hampshire preferred.
• Strong understanding of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) environmental regulations and related guidance pertaining to spill assessment and cleanup, underground storage tanks, hazardous waste, etc. preferred.
• Positive working relationships with NHDES and other regulatory agencies is preferred.
