The role involves managing hazardous materials abatement and remediation projects, supervising technicians, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Gandee & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to work out of our Brecksville, Ohio office and manage hazardous materials abatement and related remediation projects primarily in the in Northeastern Ohio area. The Project Manager will lead multiple projects at once, supervise environmental technicians, and serve as a client-facing lead responsible for inspections, abatement design support, contract administration, closeout documentation, and business development.

Responsibilities:
• Manage asbestos hazard abatement and other environmental design work from proposal through closeout.
• Plan and perform hazardous materials inspections and surveys, with emphasis on asbestos and supporting scopes for lead-based paint, IAQ, and radon as needed.
• Develop abatement project documentation and design support, including work plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Coordinate and supervise environmental technicians: scheduling, field logistics, quality control, and training.
• Provide contract administration during abatement and demolition-related work: pre-bid walkthroughs, contractor coordination, submittal review, field observations, issue tracking, and closeout.
• Maintain project controls: scope, schedule, budget awareness, documentation, and client communications.
• Prepare clear, defensible reports and deliverables suitable for client decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Support business development in Northeastern Ohio by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying opportunities.

Qualifications:
• Desired: Ohio EPA licensed Asbestos Hazard Abatement Specialist and Ohio EPA licensed Asbestos Hazard Evaluation Specialist.
• Plus: Ohio EPA licensed Asbestos Project Designer.
• Plus: Ohio lead-based paint licenses and/or Ohio radon licenses.
• 2+ years of environmental project management experience or construction project management experience.
• Preferred education: 4-year degree in environmental science, environmental health & safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and project records.
• Comfortable working independently in the field and leading client-facing communications.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to carry up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs/ladders as needed, and work in active construction or industrial environments.
• Ability to wear required PPE and perform field work in varying site conditions.

Location and Travel:
• Based in Brecksville, Ohio.
• Projects are all within the State of Ohio, primarily Northeastern Ohio. Local travel is routine. Overnight travel is not expected as a normal requirement.
