About the position
The Environmental Program Manager at HDR, Inc. will play a crucial role in supporting the civil engineering team at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. This position involves conducting environmental inspections, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and assisting with hazardous waste disposal programs. The role is integral to maintaining environmental standards and promoting sustainability within the organization and its projects.
Responsibilities
• Support the civil engineering team by conducting facility environmental inspections and ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, state, local, and Air Force environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

• Assist the hazardous waste disposal program, including collecting waste inventories, proper waste characterization, and assignment of waste codes.
,
• Assist with data collection and maintenance of Hazardous Materials Business Plans at applicable facilities.
,
• Conduct formal and informal Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) inspections, at least one formal inspection at each facility annually.
,
• Prepare and submit EPAS inspection memos in accordance with Air Force Correspondence Regulations, and document findings in the database of record. Follow up and assist facilities/units on completing corrective actions.

• Attend environmental planning meetings.

• Assist other environmental program managers with field research.

• Assist the compliance program in other ways as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or closely related field

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience

• Proficiency with MS Office

• Strong oral and written communication skills
,
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
,

• Previous experience in environmental, wildlife, coastal or fisheries
