beBee Careers is seeking a Senior Climate Program Director in Portland, OR, to lead the development and implementation of climate policies and initiatives. The role involves managing climate programs, advocating for policy, leading a team, and building relationships with stakeholders. Senior Climate Program Director*

We seek a visionary leader to spearhead the development and implementation of ambitious climate policies, programs, and partnerships in Oregon.

The successful candidate will set the strategic direction for our organization's climate work, focusing on equitable, rapid decarbonization across buildings, transportation, electricity, and industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Manage Climate Initiatives; Advocacy and Implementation: Develops and implements programs, partnerships, policy proposals, and recommendations to advance program goals. Ensures strong implementation and defense of existing climate policies through regulatory advocacy and oversight, strategic communications, and outreach.
• Team Leadership and Development: Develops job descriptions for new positions, leads hiring processes, manages and empowers team members, leads work planning, and supports skill-building and professional development.
• Relationship Building and Engagement: Cultivates and maintains collaborative relationships with key interest groups and individuals, including policymakers, statewide officials, and agency staff. Engages authentically with culturally specific and community-of-color led organizations, organizations representing rural interests, and other organizations bringing a social and environmental justice perspective.
Requirements:
• Proven Strategic Leadership: Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives, bring together diverse stakeholders, and secure policy and programmatic goals.
• Climate Expertise: Deep knowledge of climate and clean energy initiatives and policy.
• Critical Problem-Solving: Keen problem-solving skills and ability to conduct long-term visioning and planning.
