Environmental Policy Advocate

We're looking for an experienced Environmental Policy Advocate to join our team. As an Environmental Policy Advocate, you will work with our Executive Director and other staff on local campaigns, advocating for policies that increase funding for city parks and open spaces, protect clean water, invest in clean transportation options, and transition away from polluting lawn equipment.
About the Role:
• Policy Analysis and Development: Conduct research and analysis to identify effective policy solutions for environmental issues. Work with our team to develop and implement these solutions.
• Campaign Planning and Execution: Plan and execute local campaigns to advocate for environmental policies. This includes developing campaign strategies, coordinating with stakeholders, and engaging in public outreach and education.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including city officials, business leaders, and community organizations. Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
• Communications and Outreach: Write reports, fact sheets, news releases, blogs, op-eds, and other communications to get our message heard by decision-makers and the public. Serve as the public spokesperson for our campaigns through media events, press releases, and editorial board meetings.
• Grant Writing and Fundraising: Research and write grant proposals to secure funding for our work. Additionally, identify and pursue fundraising opportunities to support our campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:

• Write and disseminate reports, fact sheets, and other materials to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote our policy solutions.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental policy or a related field.
• An excellent writer and communicator, with strong public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including city officials, business leaders, and community organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in city government or environmental advocacy.
• Fundraising experience, particularly grant-seeking from charitable foundations.
