Leidos is seeking a Project Manager to support environmental projects across the U.S. This position will be remote, with occasional travel.
Leidos is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our environmental planning team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an experienced practice and apply your skills to support our consistently growing base of federal and commercial customers in the U.S. less frequently abroad. Our team of industry-leading National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) along with State equivalent SEQA planning and policy experts, biologists, cultural resources specialists, and scientists work on complex federal planning projects for most major federal customers.
Must possess a valid driver's license and pass government background checks to access and work on U.S. Government installations on an as needed basis. Due to contract requirements, only U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents will be considered.
The successful candidate will primarily manage federal environmental projects, including NEPA documents as well as environmental planning-related surveys and studies. The candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, securing and managing resources for successful completion of project goals and technical objectives within scope, technical quality, schedule, and budget constraints, along with strict adherence to health and safety guidelines. Candidates must have experience providing solutions for complex technical and regulatory issues. Candidates will routinely interface with Leidos line management, program managers, and senior technical staff across multiple offices, as well as clients and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and the public. Applicants should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage and execute projects within Leidos’ program execution framework and procedures, including cost tracking, profit/loss, estimates to complete, schedule, health and safety, and performance metrics.
• Define project requirements and technical objectives; establish, direct, and support project task teams across multiple technical disciplines; and manage project logistics and execution.
• Define requirements, oversee, and support preparation of project governing work plans and technical deliverables, including, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, project management plans and public involvement plans.
• Develop strategies and solutions for complex technical and regulatory issues.
• Procure, select, and oversee subcontractors that support Leidos’ prime contracts.
• Support proposal development, including technical solutions, management approaches, risk management strategies, and basis of estimates.
• Comply with Leidos and client Environmental Compliance, Quality, and Health & Safety programs.
• Prepare and present project findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Be willing and able to travel to project locations to attend client and stakeholder meetings, conduct site visits, etc.
What Sets You Apart:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical or Environmental Sciences, or related field, and at least 10 years’ relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and at least 8 years’ relevant experience.
• Professional credential or progress toward obtaining certification in field of specialty (e.g., PE, PG, PMP, etc.)
• Experience with management of staff, budgets, schedule, and scope.
• Experience with federal and state environmental regulatory frameworks.
• Experience supporting development of technical, management, and price proposals.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
Also Desired:
• Public involvement skills such as meeting coordination and logistics.
• NEPA experience with Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Federal Aviation Administration and/or National Aeronautics and Space Administration (i.e., Environmental Impact Statements and Environmental Assessments).
• Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain
• Active Department of Energy “Q” clearance

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
