Job Description
Talisman is seeking an Environmental Planner - Project Manager in Venice, CA, to lead their environmental planning division. This leadership role involves strategic planning, overseeing projects for compliance and profitability, building relationships with stakeholders, and mentoring a team. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, 15+ years of relevant experience, expertise in environmental regulations, and strong business development skills.
Our client, a respected organization specializing in consulting services, is seeking a driven individual to lead and expand their environmental planning division based in Southern California. This is a key leadership role offering the chance to build a team, shape strategic growth, and drive the success of the practice.
Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
• Developing and executing a strategic plan for the environmental planning division.
• Overseeing environmental planning projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and project profitability.
• Building strong relationships with local and regional government agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a growing team of environmental professionals.
• Leading business development efforts, including writing proposals, developing project scopes, and managing budgets.
• Collaborating with partners and teams across multiple disciplines to achieve client goals and business objectives.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 15+ years of experience managing environmental projects in California, with a focus on profitability and compliance.
• Expertise in state and local environmental regulations, including CEQA and NEPA.
• Proven business development skills, including client relationship management, proposal writing, and budget forecasting.
• Strong leadership experience, with a focus on mentoring and managing teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
• Experience cross-selling services across disciplines is a plus.
• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
