The OpportunityWe are recruiting for an Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our Environmental Technical Team at Hinkley Point C (HPC). This is your chance to be part of the first new nuclear power station in the UK in a generation, playing a key role in reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UK’s Net Zero goals.In this role, you’ll lead the preparation and management of environmental permit applications, ensuring compliance and timely delivery across the construction and commissioning phases. What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll lead and coordinate the delivery of environmental permit applications and variations, ensuring they align with the HPC project schedule. Your expertise will support Environmental Managers and Technical Leads across a range of permitting and technical topics.You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and manage contractors delivering specialist assessments. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring permits are secured on time, enabling the safe and compliant construction of HPC.As the project progresses, you’ll also support commissioning and operational teams, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices in environmental permitting across the EDF group. Who You AreYou bring a strong background in environmental science or engineering, with hands-on experience in environmental permitting. You understand the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2016 and have worked with regulators like the EA, NRW, or SEPA.You’re a clear communicator, a team player, and someone who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments.
