Environmental Operations Manager

The Lexington Fayette Urban Co Government is hiring an Environmental Operations Manager to oversee wastewater treatment plant operations. Responsibilities include monitoring operations via SCADA, conducting inspections, recording data, testing water samples, and chemical treatments. Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to oversee the daily operations of our wastewater treatment plant. Your responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring treatment plant operations using a SCADA system and responding to any system alarms and events
• Performing regular rounds of daily plant inspections to monitor operating conditions, make adjustments and report required repairs to maintenance staff or management as needed
• Recording operational data, and/or meter and gauge readings on specified forms and reports
• Collecting and testing water and sewage samples; sending samples to the water quality laboratory for analysis
• Adds chemicals, such as chlorine, or lime, to disinfect and deodorize water and other liquids
• Performing related work as assigned

We require a strong understanding of wastewater treatment principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
