Job Description
The Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is hiring an Environmental Officer for a full-time role based in Wangaratta, VIC. The position involves regulatory operations to prevent pollution and waste harm, requiring collaboration with various stakeholders. About the role:
You will be on the frontline of regulatory operations, driving compliance, education, and enforcement actions to prevent harm from pollution and waste. Reporting to the Team Leader, Environment Protection, you'll prioritise tasks, monitor workflows, and contribute to EPA's strategic priorities in a dynamic and impactful role.
In this role you will:
• Implement regulatory actions to safeguard communities and the environment through education, compliance monitoring, and enforcement.
• Contribute to building a high-performing, positive team culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support investigations, deliver preventative projects, and respond to environmental and public health emergencies.
• Collaborate with government, industry, and community partners to enhance environmental outcomes.
Skills and experience:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and a current Victorian driver’s license are desirable.
• Strong capability in delivering regulatory operations, understanding government legislation, and applying environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks, and contribute to a cohesive team environment.
• Innovative problem solver with a commitment to professional growth and making a difference.
