Wastenot Farms Inc. is hiring for a full-time Environmental Marketing, Communications & Production role in Mono, ON. The position involves 50% on-farm labor in compost operations and 50% in environmental communications, sales, and marketing. Responsibilities include maintaining social media, crafting newsletters, and developing promotional campaigns. Candidates should have a background in sales, marketing, and a passion for regenerative agriculture. Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors are essential.

Join our dynamic work team! Wastenot Farms is a regenerative agriculture company collecting food waste, recycling this material through worm composting, and retailing our Jocelyn’s Soil Booster brand of all-natural soil amendments. We are hiring a full-time contract employee to work as key operations and research team member.

Approximately 50% of this position will be on-farm labour supporting compost operations and manufacturing production. You'll be involved in all aspects of the composting process, from collecting food waste on farm, feeding inputs and monitoring the composting process using commercial equipment, logging input and output data, moving material through the production supply chain, and preparing product for sale through harvesting, drying, refining, bagging and labeling. You will further your knowledge around composting and worm farming techniques including the importance of soil microbiology.

The other 50% of the position will be focused on environmental communications, sales & marketing tasks. This will include maintaining social media accounts, crafting communications & newsletters to aid in our product sales goals, and developing promotional campaigns and materials.

This position is for a full time, salaried position ~32.5 hrs/week.

Skills & Abilities Required of Applicants:

-Physically fit and able to lift, carry, shovel and move 30 lbs repeatedly

-Transportation daily to/from farm, located in Mono, ON (Airport Rd & Highway 9) (no public transit is available to our location)

-Willingness to work outdoors, with food waste/compost/soil material, in all types of weather

-Stamina to work 7 hours shifts, performing physical labour and repetitive activities

-MUST SHOW demonstrated interest, passion & expertise in science/regenerative agriculture/organic growing or sustainable waste management

-Experience, expertise & education in communications, sales and marketing is mandatory

-Background in environmental studies, plant biology or soil health an asset

-Previous experience maintaining social media, developing and delivering sales & marketing campaigns an asset an asset

-Preferred software skills: Canva, Mailchimp, Instagram, LinkedIn, Shopify

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
