Environmental Manager

Mountaire Farms is seeking an Environmental Manager in Siler City, NC, responsible for managing environmental compliance programs, including air emissions, wastewater operations, and hazardous waste. Key duties involve ensuring compliance with regulations, providing technical support, and developing corrective action plans. Candidates should have a BS in Environmental Science or related field and 7-10 years of experience. The role requires travel and strong communication skills.
Manages environmental compliance programs, air emissions sources, pretreatment wastewater operations or land applications, stormwater, hazardous waste, SPCC (Spill Prevention Control & Counter measure ) in order for the company to maintain compliance with federal, state and local agencies.

Duties/Activities Required by Job
• Ensuring policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance programs. Participating in regulatory visits and communication regarding new or existing permits
• Monitoring compliance of the business unit and providing guidance on matters relating to compliance. Review Intellect reports to ensure compliance tasks are completed on time.
• Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; developing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, mitigate risk, and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
• Provide technical support to all upcoming regulatory issues relating to the company. Keep current with changing regulations/technologies across the country.
• Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Lockout Tag Out procedure and process safety management related matters.

Educations/Experience Requirements
• BS in Environmental Science or related field
• 7-10 years
• Willingness to travel, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working knowledge of 40CFR-air, along with state, local regs, wastewater license
