Environmental Manager

Our well-established client is looking for a subject matter expert who is passionate about environmental compliance. This position will lead a team of environmental professionals & partner with operations and cross functional teams to lead environmental compliance activities at the facility. This position has a strong focus on air, water and waste programs while working with local and state regulatory agencies. The Environmental Leader is responsible for leading environmental compliance activities and personnel to ensure the site maintains full compliance with Title V, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This is a hands-on leadership role combining people management with daily environmental compliance responsibilities and reports to the EHS Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Ensure compliance with all applicable EPA, state, and local environmental regulations, including Title V and other air, water, and waste programs (e.g., CEMS, LDAR, MACT standards, SPCC, NPDES, RCRA, DOT).
• Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure activities align with permit conditions and regulatory limits.
• Coach, train, and advise operations and leadership on environmental requirements and operating boundaries.
• Directly manage and develop a team of four environmental professionals and technicians.
• Establish departmental goals and priorities aligned with site EHS objectives.
• Develop, maintain, and report environmental metrics to measure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping and monitoring data for all environmental needs.
• Prepare and submit all required regulatory reports accurately and on time.
• Review consultant and internal reports prior to submission.
• Manage permit deviations and ensure proper regulatory notifications.
• Serve as the primary environmental liaison with regulatory agencies, including inspections.
• Act as environmental advisor to assigned production units, including participation in daily meetings and MOC reviews.
• Support development of practical, cost-effective, and sustainable environmental solutions.
• Evaluate and manage environmental consultants and vendors.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week per month).
