Overview:
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join the Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) as a Grants Program Assistant - Grants Specialist II. As a key member of the OEJ team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the administration of the Environmental Justice Grant Program, which aims to address environmental health disparities in disproportionately impacted communities across Colorado. Responsibilities:
• Assist in improving methods for implementing and accomplishing grant-making activities in accordance with the Environmental Justice Act (HB21-1266). * Ensure request for application (RFA) documents meet the requirements of the Environmental Justice Act, including being concise, straightforward, objective, inclusive, and accessible to all interested parties. * Collaborate with the EJ Grants Specialist and EJ Communications Specialist to communicate grant opportunities through various channels, including the Office of Environmental Justice webpage, newsletters, social media, press releases, and paid advertisements. * Support the planning and facilitation of webinars, technical assistance sessions, and Q&A related to the grant application process. * Coordinate and schedule subcommittee meetings, webinars, and technical assistance sessions, ensuring alignment with program timelines and stakeholder availability. * Provide technical assistance to grantees, including addressing questions on needs assessment, program development, implementation, fiscal guidance, outcome tracking, and compliance. Qualifications:
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in grants management, program administration, public administration, nonprofit management, environmental justice, health equity, or an occupation closely related to the work assigned to this position. * OR
• A combination of related education and experience that equals five (5) years. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
