The Department of Fish and Game is seeking an individual to serve as an Environmental Justice Ambassador. This role will involve conducting research on youth workforce development initiatives, with a focus on establishing a Community Ambassadors program at the DFG. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Environmental Justice Liaison to prepare and conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders, including community colleges, universities, municipal partners, and commercial entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a collection of programmatic examples of job shadowing in technical, government, management, communications, and public engagement settings.">
• At the direction of the EJ Liaison, prepare outreach lists of relevant program providers, vendors, and educators operating in the areas of training and workforce development in the environmental sciences, stewardship of natural resources, and recreational infrastructure.">
• Work with the Environmental Justice Liaison to develop a questionnaire for interviews.">
• Collaborate with the DFG's Environmental Justice Liaison to conduct interviews.">
• Prepare draft proposal materials supporting the establishment of a DFG Environmental Justice Ambassador program.">

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• A strong interest in policy and program development, combined with an aptitude for researching current and historical resources and information.">
• Ability to communicate clearly through writing, verbally, and using other appropriate tools.">
• Familiarity with the environmental sciences, stewardship, recreation, and outdoor activities, including hunting and shooting sports, public service communications, government, community development, workforce development, and public outreach.">
