KERAMIDA Inc. is seeking an Environmental Compliance Inspector in Goshen, Indiana. The role involves managing environmental controls on construction sites, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulations. As an Environmental Compliance Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects by managing contractor implementation of environmental controls and mitigation measures. Your primary responsibilities will include performing daily field inspections, initiating corrective actions where appropriate, and ensuring compliance with construction standards and specific contract documents. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented field professional with a strong ability to work independently, a high degree of integrity, and excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Enforce ordinances and the requirements of erosion control, stormwater management, and other related codes and regulations through regular inspection of construction projects.
• Regularly prepare inspection reports documenting adherence to approved plan, materials, and specifications.
• Manage all aspects of inspection and adherence to quality control standards, environmental protection, and safety rules.
• Investigate complaints, creates notices of violation, engages in follow up inspections and site visits for compliance.
• Communicate regularly with contractors, engineers, field workers and other State and Federal agencies.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Often works around asphalt, concrete, and dust.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Ecology or a related field.
• Two (2) to six (6) years of experience in environmental compliance inspections. Utility construction experience preferred.
• Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, project management software tools, and the ability to adapt to software programs as needed to prepare reports.
• Knowledge of State and local erosion ordinances and code.
• Deep understanding of construction practices, materials, equipment, and of the various stages of construction preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical procedure and instructions within multiple levels of staff, clients, and contractors.
• Demonstrated practical skills in reading and interpreting a variety of reports, blueprints, Inspection slips, inspection requests, diagrams, specifications, codes and regulations, architectural drawings, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
