Vuteq USA, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for their Madison, AL location. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, developing EHS policies, conducting training, and leading risk assessments. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Job Summary

Vuteq USA is seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to oversee EHS functions at our Madison, Alabama location. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations while fostering a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.

The EHS Specialist serves as a key technical resource for all departments and works closely with leadership to identify potential risks, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs
• Conduct safety training and maintain accurate training records
• Lead risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor, track, and report EHS performance metrics
• Maintain and monitor lost-time injuries/illness records and Workers’ Compensation claims
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed
• Promote employee and new hire engagement in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable environmental regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification
• CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification
• HAZWOPER Certification
• ASQ CQT, CQA, or CQE certifications

Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, PPE, and Machine Guarding
• Experience conducting incident investigations, writing reports, and implementing corrective actions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead training sessions and effectively engage employees at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, remain organized, and work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Working ConditionsPhysical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility
• Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to distinguish colors and read printed materials, signs, and gauges

Work Environment
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
• Occasional travel or extended hours may be required for audits, incidents, or regulatory visits

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct reports but collaborates closely with leadership teams to promote and enforce safety policies across the facility.
