Job Description
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Paint Stores Group in Alabama is responsible for supporting EHS programs to ensure compliance with safety and environmental laws. Description
This position is accountable for supporting and maintaining the Environmental Health and Safety ("EHS") programs, activities, and control measures for the site, as well as coordinating these efforts with various compliance programs, to protect all personnel and physical assets. This position helps ensure compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements under federal, state, and local law and regulations.

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Travel Required: 5%
This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Responsibilities
• Develop and initiate programs and processes in partnership with site management to reduce frequency and severity of occupational injuries, illnesses, and property losses
• Integrate risk/loss controls into daily operations with the organization
• Support employee led safety committees
• Maintain incident management systems and processes, including change procedures and documentation, and safety observation and hazard tracking systems
• Record and analyze incident records and make recommendations regarding corrective action, emphasizing proactive intervention
• Support implementation of practical compliance with safety, health, and environmental laws and regulations
• Plan, coordinate, and lead all site EHS training
• Foster a positive safety culture through professional and proactive interactions with employees and maintaining a strong shop-floor presence
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have an associate’s degree or higher or two (2) years of work experience in environmental, health and safety
Preferred Qualifications:
• Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
• Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
• Have prior work experience managing industrial safety standards including respirator and lifting safety
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience in environmental, health, and safety, or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an environmental, health and safety function
• Have prior work experience using a safety management system
• Have prior work experience conducting training and/or developing training materials
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering or Business
