About The Role

We are actively seeking an EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Specialist to join our plant operations in New Century, Kansas. This position supports the EHS team to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all relevant Flora Food Group, Federal, State, and Local EHS policies and standards. The position will also be responsible for assisting the EHS Manager and EHS Supervisor in promoting a strong safety culture and the implementation of EHS initiatives.

Responsibilities
• Provide support for the administration and implementation of key EHS programs and policies, including creating training materials.
• Coordinate investigation of incidents with department managers and supervisors to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Manage the hearing conservation program to include the new hire and annual hearing test process.
• Support new hire orientation training.
• Create and maintain a confined space inventory for the facility.
• Track and report on the completion of safety action items.
• Administer the safety shoe and prescription safety glasses program.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees at all levels, including creating EHS training materials for Supervisors to present to employees.
• Conducting stormwater inspections.

About You
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related
• Prefer a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably leading
• Strong oral and written communication and effective interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate business results to the company and regulatory agencies (Including presentation and facilitating skills).
• Flexibility with work hours depending upon business
• Experience in manufacturing environment
