Job Description
Southern Arkansas University Tech is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Instructor for a 12-month faculty position. Responsibilities include teaching courses both on-campus and via alternative methods like Zoom, developing curricula, and delivering training statewide. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience and knowledge of safety regulations. The position offers a salary of $50K–60K per year and requires a commitment to collaboration and student success.
This is a 12-month Faculty position at the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy. The primary function of this position is to teach in the Academy’s Environmental Health & Safety Program division. This position serves under to the Director of the Arkansas Environmental Training Academy or his designee.

1. Teach Environmental Health & Safety courses on-campus, off-campus, by alternative methods of delivery (Zoom/Internet, etc.).
2. Work with the AETA EHS Program Coordinator to Develop and/or Revise Environmental Health & Safety curriculums to keep current with changing technologies and state and federal regulatory requirements.
3. Work with the AETA EHS Program Coordinator to deliver training statewide.
4. Attend meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, and conferences as requested.
5. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety related field.
2. Knowledge of safety rules, regulations and procedures.
3. Knowledge of Hazwoper, DOT Hazardous Material Transportation, OSHA General Industry and/or OSHA Construction Industry standards.
4. Must possess the skills necessary deliver environmental health and safety training to students and industry groups.
5. Background check required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. OSHA Authorized Trainer for General Industry and Construction Industry standards.
2. Associate’s or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Physical Science, or Chemistry.
3. Teaching experience with curriculum development and delivery.Supplemental Information:
