Overview

Build your career with IU Health!  We have an exciting opportunity available for a Environmental Health and Safety Advisor to join the team at our Riley Childrens Hospital.

This position oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the emergency management program for IU Health Academic Health Center facilities. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, coordinates training and exercises, manages disaster preparedness and response activities, and facilitates interdepartmental and external collaborations. Evaluates program effectiveness, provides technical expertise, oversees logistical readiness, and supports the Academic Health Center’s mission to maintain a safe and prepared environment for patients, staff, and the community.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
• Requires 5-7 years of healthcare environmental health and safety experience.
• NFPA Life Safety Specialist, OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour General Industry certifications are required within 6 months of hire.
• Joint Commission, DNV or ISO experience is required.
• Large system regional infection prevention experience is preferred.
• Facilities management experience is preferred.
