Environmental Health Safety Specialist

NR Consulting is seeking an Environmental Health Safety Specialist in Simi Valley, CA for a 6-month contract. Environment Health and Safety Specialist

Location: Simi Valley, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and audit EHS programs for compliance and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, and ISO 14001 standards.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Manage regulatory permits, licenses, and environmental reporting (hazardous waste, air emissions, wastewater).
• Lead Kaizen, Safety Committees, and Emergency Response Teams.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
• Analyze and mitigate workplace hazards to ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain and improve EHS data management systems (SAP, Benchmark Gensuite, HumanTech).
• Travel up to 20% as needed.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field (Required).
• 5+ years of EHS regulatory compliance experience (Safety-focused).
• Certifications: ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM.
• Training: RCRA Hazardous Waste (40 CFR 262.34), DOT (49 CFR 172.700-704), HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and EHS software.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
