Job Description

Innovo Global Talent is hiring an Environmental Health Safety Specialist in Birmingham, UK, for a leading warehousing systems company. The role involves overseeing workplace safety, conducting risk assessments, managing emergency procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience, including a BSc/BA in safety management and 5 years in a similar role. The position offers a salary of £40K–£45K annually.

Their Operations department is currently looking for a Health & Safety Manager to lead and oversee critical responsibilities in workplace safety and compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Reviewing all work procedures and ensuring they meet industry safety standards.
• Carrying out safety risks assessments prior to starting a new project.
• Ensuring safe installation of equipment and overseeing external contractors on site.
• Managing emergency procedures and ensuring that they are in place for when one occurs.
• Preparing and filing reports for accidents and other safety breaches.
• Conducting in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness.
• Ensuring inspections are carried out when needed.
• Staying up-to-date with health, safety and environment regulations.
• Create and manage health and safety policies and monitoring systems.
• Making sure the business complies with health and safety legislation.
• Enhancing health and safety culture in the organisation.

Requirements:
• BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
• Valid qualification in occupational health and safety.
• Construction site management experience (good understanding of CDM 2015)
• 5 years working experience in a similar role.
• Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies.
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Travel (domestic)
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• SMSTS/SSSTS Certificate.
