About the position

The State of Alaska is seeking an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) 1/2/3 to join the Division of Environmental Health in Anchorage. This role is primarily responsible for conducting inspections and plan reviews of retail food and public facilities, including pool and spa operations and body art shops. The position requires travel across Alaska to remote communities and offers extensive training and professional growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
• Conduct inspections and plan reviews of retail food and public facilities.

• Inspect food processors, including seafood manufacturers.

• Educate regulated establishments on food safety and sanitation standards.

• Communicate with establishment owners and employees to ensure compliance with standards.

• Travel across Alaska for inspections, audits, and training.
