About the position
The Environmental Health Manager I position at the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) is a full-time role focused on ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the agency's mission of making South Carolina a safe place to work and live. As an Environmental Health Manager, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled health consultation visits at various general industry and construction sites. Your primary goal will be to detect potential hazards and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to enhance workplace safety. In addition to site visits, you will be tasked with submitting detailed written consultation reports that document any alleged hazards found during inspections. These reports will also include formulated recommendations for corrective actions that must be completed within specified time frames. You will play a crucial role in monitoring these corrective action dates, closing consultation files, and submitting weekly paperwork related to your consultation activities. Furthermore, you will prepare additional reports as required by the agency. A significant aspect of this role involves promoting and assisting with Outreach and Education training classes and programs aimed at reducing industrial accidents. You will also provide training to other OSHA employees as requested, enhancing their knowledge and skills in workplace safety. Additionally, you may participate as a team member in Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) onsite audits and represent the agency in panel discussions for various safety and health professional organizations. Responsibilities

Requirements
• Must have a valid driver's license and a 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines.

• 1 year of relevant experience in environmental health or safety management.
