Serigraph is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in West Bend, WI, to ensure regulatory compliance and drive safety initiatives within their Industrial Graphics and Screen Graphics divisions. The role involves managing waste streams, conducting safety trainings, supporting ISO certifications, and performing audits. Candidates should be detail-oriented and proactive, with a passion for environmental health and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Serigraph is seeking an EH&S Specialist to support our Industrial Graphics (IG) and Screen Graphics (SG) divisions. In this dynamic role, you’ll work alongside our Director of EH&S and plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, lead risk reduction efforts, and support continuous improvement across our Wisconsin-based facilities.

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Responsibilities
• Risk Reduction Activities
• Assist in developing and completing monthly compliance related safety trainings.
• Complete trainings including forklift, aerial lift, fall protection, confined space and control of hazardous energy.
• Assist with EH&S policy and procedures, training content reviews and continuous improvement.
• Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s).
• Assist in incident investigations.
• Environmental Compliance Activities
• Ensure that waste areas are clean, orderly, and within retention standards.
• Follow appropriate labeling and storage protocols for all waste types.
• Perform weekly waste inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
• Coordinate waste and recycling pickups including:
• Staging and segregating waste drums for shipment.
• Verifying profile numbers and labeling on each drum.
• Checking hazardous waste transport driver’s documentation and verifying drum numbers with the waste manifest.
• Loading drums into the waste transport trailer and signing the waste manifests.
• Manage the recycling trailer.
• Sort universal waste into appropriate categories, such as batteries and bulbs.
• Stage bins for the monthly confidential shredding pickup.
• Update VOC and energy use tracking for annual regulatory compliance reporting.
• Review incoming SDS’s and maintain SDS’s utilizing KHA program software
• Auditing and Reporting
• Contribute to the auditing and reporting for Serigraph’s ISO 14001:2015 and Green Tier certifications.
• Contribute to Serigraph’s small quantity generator reporting (POC).
• Perform quarterly spill control audits as part of Serigraph’s SPCC program.
• Gather and provide data for the annual Toxic Release Inventory to the EPA.
• Maintain compliance with Serigraph’s no exposure storm water certifications.
• Act as one of Serigraph’s forklift trainers performing new certifications and recertifications.
• Miscellaneous
• Ensure quality and stop production. Communicate products and/or processes not meeting requirements.
• Ensure all environmental practices and materials are handled and disposed of per appropriate procedures in your area.
• Support Serigraph current quality business system and understand use of SPECS, the Serigraph quality manual.
What we are looking for in an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist -
• 1-3 years prior experience in a dedicated EHS role.
• Knowledge of DNR, EPA regulatory reporting requirements.
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and the Global Harmonized System (GHS).
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Accurate entry into company ERP software and ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Ability to learn new software systems, including data entry and pulling necessary reports.
• Valid drivers license and good driving record for travel between plants.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of good departmental and company safety/housekeeping/PPE practices.
• Understand departmental procedures and policies.
Perferred Qualifications of an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist are -
• Knowledge of machine guarding and prevention through design practices.
• Experience with ISO 14001 management systems, continuous improvement and auditing processes.
• Knowledge of waste storage and handling requirements defined by RCRA and the EPA.
• Qualified Forklift, Crane and Rigging trainer.
• HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred.
