About the position
Wagner Equipment Co. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial in implementing and administering comprehensive safety, accident prevention, and occupational health programs across the company and its subsidiaries. The EHS Specialist will work diligently to prevent or reduce industrial injuries and illnesses, aligning with our vision of operating as One Professional Team. In addition to safety programs, the specialist will also manage environmental initiatives aimed at reducing waste, preventing pollution, and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental laws and regulations. This position will primarily support our operations in the Colorado region, requiring a proactive approach to compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing and promoting safety procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and environmental laws. This includes representing the company at various meetings and conferences, providing essential data for bid packages, and advising management on sensitive issues. The role also involves conducting personnel sampling, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring adequate training related to safety and environmental health. The specialist will assist in formulating emergency plans, conducting root cause analyses for accident investigations, and performing environmental sampling of waste streams and hazardous materials. This position is vital in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, and the successful candidate will be a key resource for both management and employees.
Responsibilities
• Implement and administer company-wide safety, accident prevention, and occupational health programs.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.

• Represent the company at city, county, state, and industry meetings, committees, and conferences.
,
• Provide data to customers as part of bid packages and pre-qualification.
,
• Advise and counsel company management on policies and laws.
,
• Perform personnel sampling and implement corrective actions as necessary.
,
• Ensure adequate safety and health training for employees.
,
• Assist in developing and directing the company's accident-prevention program.
,
• Conduct facility inspections to identify safety and environmental hazards.
,
• Monitor changes in governmental regulations and advise management on compliance.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.

• 2 years of experience with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.

• 1-3 years of administrative/clerical experience.
,
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
,
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
,
• 3-5 years of technical or mechanical experience.
