About the position
At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to join our team in Woodland Hills, CA. This position is integral to our mission of ensuring a safe and compliant work environment while supporting our innovative projects that impact lives globally. The EHS Professional will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting existing and proposed EHS regulations to determine their applicability and impact on our operations. This role involves partnering with business leaders to foster a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring that our EHS programs are continuously improved and effectively implemented. The EHS Professional will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of various EHS programs aimed at compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation. This includes conducting audits, industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic assessments, and pollution prevention activities. The role also requires interfacing with regulatory representatives, senior management, and various teams including the Emergency Response and Crisis Management teams. The EHS Professional will serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely and accurate submission of necessary reports and documentation. In addition to these responsibilities, the EHS Professional will coordinate EHS training for employees, conduct instructor-led training sessions, and support the site's environmental sustainability initiatives. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for one day of remote work per week, while primarily working onsite at our Woodland Hills campus, which boasts a friendly work environment and various onsite amenities.
Responsibilities
• Review and interpret existing and proposed environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations to determine applicability and impact for sites.

• Assist with the implementation of programs to comply with EHS regulations.
,
• Partner with business leaders to improve the culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS programs.
,
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.
,
• Complete audits, industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic assessments, and assist in pollution prevention activities.
,
• Interface with regulatory representatives, senior management, and the site EH&S Committee.
,
• Implement EHS management systems sector-level programs and associated documentation.
,
• Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and provide timely submission of necessary reports.
,
• Write and update EHS plans and procedures, and apply for new permits and renewals.
,
• Conduct audits and identify actions necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
,
• Coordinate EHS training for employees and conduct instructor-led EHS training.
,
• Support the site's environmental sustainability program.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS position OR a Master's degree and 3 years of related EHS experience.

• Experience with managing various EHS compliance programs such as hazardous waste, storm water, wastewater, air, and occupational safety.
,
• Experience in completing industrial hygiene assessments and sampling, oversight of third-party consultants/contractors, and implementation of EHS management systems (e.g. ISO 14001, OSHA VPP).

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Nice-to-haves
• Master of Science (M.S.) degree in an EHS program of study, or currently enrolled in an M.S. degree program.

• Professional certifications in EHS related programs (Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Industrial Hygienist).

• Experience with SAP and Microsoft SharePoint programs.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization.

• Ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources.
