We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager in our Kingsville Office.

The EHS Manager, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, is responsible for leading a dedicated team to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment across all Red Sun Farms locations in Canada and the United States. This role plays a key leadership position in developing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive EHS programs. The EHS Manager will champion a proactive safety culture, driving initiatives that protect employees, support sustainability, and meet regulatory standards throughout the organization.

Main Responsibilities
• Promotes and reinforces superior safety culture initiatives throughout the company to ensure work is being completed safely while adhering to regulatory standards and company policies
• Manage and provide strategic leadership to the Health & Safety Team at all company locations across Canada and the United States, ensuring alignment with corporate EHS goals and regulatory requirements
• Lead the environmental initiatives within the organization’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework, aligning strategies with corporate sustainability goals and regulatory expectations
• Support the collection and organization of environmental data and documentation to assist in meeting customer ESG requirements, including audit preparation and responses to information requests
• Oversees the administration of workers’ compensation including WSIB reporting and claims management and the return-to-work program
• Maintains awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and makes recommendations for their implementation
• Lead the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the H&S Management Program, ensuring it effectively addresses regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and industry best practices across all facilities
• Act as a key advisor on internal health and safety matters, providing guidance to leadership and teams to proactively address risks, resolve issues, and support a culture of safety across all departments
• Leads and coordinates the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) by managing meetings and ensuring issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner
• Supports the management of employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns; conducts or assists with internal investigations into claims of harassment or other company-guideline violations
• Ensures the timely completion of accident/injury reporting and investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions
• Completes other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resources, Business or related field required
• 5-7+ years of related experience, preferably in the agriculture industry
• Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation considered an asset
• Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification
• Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (OHSA, OSHA)
• Demonstrated experience and/or Certification in conducting Workplace Investigations
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to apply risk assessment methodologies to operations and activities
• Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Attention to detail in all areas of work

Working Conditions
• Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
• Sitting or standing for an extended amount of time may be required
• Occasionally work in a cold and noisy work environment
• May require working occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• May be required to work overtime as needed
• Travel as necessary
