Michael Page is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for a manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, UT. The role involves leading a team of two, fostering a safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting risk assessments, and developing training programs. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, and strong leadership skills. About Our Client
We are currently partnered up with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in their search for an EHS Manager to join one of their largest plants. They are known for creating innovative solutions that enhance product performance, sustainability, and reliability. The role will focus on Health and Safety primarily but will work closely with the Environmental Engineer. This role will have two direct reports and will have the opportunity to build out a team. Job Description
The EHS Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
• Develop and foster a culture of safety across the organization.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety and health matters.
• Lead safety committees and employee engagement initiatives to promote safety awareness.
• Design, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to mitigate potential safety and health risks.
• Develop emergency response plans and lead periodic drills.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and investigations, and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement injury prevention strategies based on data analysis.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
• Ensure employees understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate EHS performance metrics and progress to leadership.
• Oversee waste management, air quality, water usage, and other environmental compliance areas.
• Collaborate with external agencies during inspections and reporting.

The Successful Applicant
The ideal EHS Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Certification in EHS-related areas (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in incident investigation techniques (e.g., root cause analysis) and safety management systems.
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles as they relate to EHS.
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene practices and ergonomic assessments.
• Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in safety and health performance.
