About the position

The Environmental Field Technician role at Sovereign Consulting Inc. involves performing fieldwork activities related to environmental consulting and remediation. Technicians will work outdoors in various weather conditions, conducting tasks such as groundwater and soil sampling, while adhering to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
• Perform groundwater-sampling duties at various Sovereign project locations
,
• Perform soil sampling activities during well installation tasks or soil excavation activities
,
• Knowledge of system operation and maintenance
,
• Conduct potable well sampling
,
• Complete well development activities
,
• Record field notes for each specific task performed
,
• Maintain equipment calibration logs
,
• Perform general labor and maintenance activities
,
• Handle other related duties assigned
,
• Adhere to Sovereign Consulting Inc. Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities

Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
,
• 1-2 years of related fieldwork experience
,
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the CTDEEP field sampling guidance and protocols including low-flow sampling methods is preferred
,
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required, will train the right candidate
,
• Must have a good driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle
