Job Description

To continue its mission to be an industry leader in the earth science and geomorphic consulting services, GEO Morphix is looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with their team on a range of earth and environmental science projects including geomorphological assessments, erosion and hazard studies, and water quality and environmental monitoring. Successful candidates will have excellent inter-personal skills and must be outcome oriented.

Key Responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and as a team in field data collection
• Provide technical support to staff for data analysis and report preparation for various projects
• Support senior staff to expand field techniques and practices
• Ability to balance the workload of multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
• Demonstrate exceptional inter-personal skills to work with staff, clients, consulting partners, and permitting agencies
• Collect and organize field data
• Operate and install monitoring equipment
• Follow safe work practices and procedures
• Participate in the full range of water monitoring operations, maintenance, and repair duties
• Drive to field sites, as required
• Work in various outdoor working conditions

Qualifications
• Degree in Environmental Science, Geomorphology, Physical Geography or Engineering
• Experience in field data collection techniques including surveying and water quality measurements
• Experience with water quality/quantity monitoring equipment
• Familiarity with aerial photographic interpretation and map analysis
• Experience with scientific information analysis and interpretation, data management, and technical writing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Valid G Class driver’s license

Additional Information

Location: Our head office is based in Campbellville, ON, and is easily accessible off the Highway 401 exit on Guelph Line. Our Eastern Ontario office is in the scenic town of Almonte, ON, servicing the Ottawa region.

Job Status: Full-time, hourly.

Working Model: Primarily field and office based, with the possibility for hybrid work when needed.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (40-hour work week).

Travel: Frequent travel to field sites within GTA or Ottawa Region.
