Environmental Management Services, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Field Technician in Rockville, MD. The role requires a high school diploma, mechanical skills, and the ability to handle heavy materials. Responsibilities include site visits, waste collection, and safety inspections. A Rockville, Maryland based firm, is seeking experienced, self-motivated candidate to work in Rockville, Maryland. We are a Drug Free Workplace. Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Specialized training a plus
• Must be willing to learn and attend safety training
• Mechanically inclined and can maintain lab equipment
• Ability to work 40-50 hours per week; be on call 24 hours/7 days a week for emergency spill response;
• Must be able to handle & move drums of at least 250/450 pounds (5 gal., 15 gal., 30 gal, and 55 gal); stand for 8 hours per day; operate tools and equipment safely;
• Proficiency in English written and reading required.
• Shall be experienced in driving box trucks;
• Shall maintain a professional image.
• Successful candidates must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing, a background check and DOT/medical physical before hire.
• Ability to work Monday – Friday (8 hours) start time 7:30 a.m.

Preferred skills:
• 2+ years’ experience dealing with hazardous waste strongly preferred
• OSHA 8 hour
• Knowledge in chemistry, hazardous waste and hazardous materials packing, labeling, disposal and transportation;
• Knowledge of DOT/EPA/OSHA/RCRA regulations a requirement;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computers

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Work under the direction of senior staff or independently;
• Daily client site visits to collect chemicals or waste in accordance with company guidelines, EPA, DOT regulations, and disposal site protocols;
• Safety equipment inspections and verification;
• Spill response & clean-up;
• Preparation of daily field reports;
• Deliveries and pickups of drums or various job-related supplies;
• Regulated medical waste pickups;
• Other duties as assigned.
