Description

The Environmental Sampling Technician or Staff Level Environmental Scientist will play a crucial role in our Environmental Sustainment and Restoration Consulting Services. This position involves performing environmental fieldwork, including the collection of various environmental media (such as soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air). You will be responsible for completing field documentation using both hand-written and app-based devices and assisting the project team in integrating collected data into reports that will drive future project decisions. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-directed, customer-service-focused team player who is able to travel and work at military bases across the southwest, including some remote locations.

Skills
• Knowledge and experience in sampling various environmental media, including surface water, groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and air
• Understanding of RCRA, CERCLA, and other regulations
• Ability to prepare clear, concise notes and document field progress
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities
• Perform environmental fieldwork, including data collection and documentation
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to troubleshoot issues
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
• Travel to military bases and remote locations as required
• Assist in integrating collected data into project reports

Qualifications
• For Environmental Sampling Technician: 4+ years of experience in sampling environmental media
• For Staff Level Environmental Scientist: 1-2+ years of environmental sampling or consulting experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
• Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a similar scientific field

Experience Requirements
• 1-4 years of relevant experience in environmental sampling or consulting
• Proven ability to work on active and former military installations is a plus.
