By joining the Division of Water/Water Infrastructure Branch/Engineering Section as an Environmental EngineerI in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to perform reviews and inspections of plans, designs,activities, and operations related to drinking water and wastewater infrastructure to determine compliancewith environmental engineering standards.
This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.
Holders of the Environmental Engineer I (FFTL) position will complete tasks such as:
Review and analyze plans and specifications for drinking water and wastewater facility infrastructureconstruction projects for compliance with applicable state and/or federal regulations.
Provide technical and engineering over-site for projects related to Emerging Contaminants.
Perform periodic on-site construction inspections for emerging contaminant projects.
Coordinate with local public water systems and associated partners to support projects.
