We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to act as Assistant Project Manager within a growing environmental consulting practice in our Prescott, AZ office. The successful candidate will lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans throughout AZ. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is ready to take on project management and staff training. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical.
What you'll do
• Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from the proposal stage, through preparation of workplans, conducting field work, and writing summary reports, to final remedial documents
• The candidate will work with junior staff to complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schools/universities, transit-related), residential, industrial. commercial, and private.
• Fieldwork will include oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborers, during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities; and sampling various media including soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor and air
• Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same.
• Prepare summary reports including reviewing laboratory analytical data; interpreting and tabulating data and preparing tables; soil boring logs; figures; and text
Minimum Requirements
• BS in Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree
• 6+ years of environmental consulting experience
• Experience performing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, including soil, sediment, soil vapor, air and groundwater sampling
• Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, and research and documentation
• OSHA 40-Hour Training and 8-hour refreshers
• Must possess a valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, and be willing to travel and conduct field work throughout Arizona.
• Experience working effectively with team members as well as independently
• Strong quantitative/math and analytical skills
• Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to DOT regulated random drug testing
Preferred Requirements
• Professional engineering license preferred
• Working knowledge of the environmental investigation implications with the CEQR process Chapter 12) preferred
• OSHA 30-Hour construction training preferred
