Job Description

The Environmental Enforcement Officer at Kingdom Services Group is responsible for enforcing environmental laws in Weston-super-Mare, UK. Where: Working in Weston-super-Mare, BS22 area.

Hours: On average 37.5 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. Monday to Friday between 07:00am - 19:00pm (rotational weekends).

Salary: £12.50 per hour.

Own transport is required, a clean full UK manual driving licence as you will be driving a company vehichle.

Whats in it for you?<br>• Contributory pension scheme.<br>• A friendly and supportive team.<br>• Training, career development & progression opportunities.<br>• Overtime opportunities.<br>• Access to advanced / early pay scheme.<br>• Kingdom Colleague App including Employee Assistance Program and Wellbeing Support.<br>About Kingdom:<br><br>Kingdom is the leading supplier to Local Authorities, providing services to combat environmental crime, including littering, fly-tipping, business waste compliance, and anti-social behaviour.<br><br>We offer accredited CPD training, career development plans, and aim to make the UK cleaner, safer, and greener.<br><br>What the role is:<br><br>The Environmental Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining public health, safety, and environmental standards by enforcing environmental laws and regulations.<br><br>This position involves investigating environmental violations, issuing warnings, fines, or citations, and educating the public about environmental responsibilities.<br><br>The officer will work closely with local authorities, businesses, and residents to promote compliance and help reduce environmental crimes such as littering, fly-tipping, and pollution.<br><br>Key Responsibilities:<br><br>Environmental Law Enforcement:<br>• Enforce environmental regulations and local by-laws relating to littering, fly-tipping, graffiti, waste management, noise pollution, and other environmental concerns.<br>• Patrol assigned areas to detect violations and ensure compliance with environmental laws.<br>• Investigate reports of environmental offenses from the public and respond promptly to complaints.<br>Issuing Fines and Notices:<br>• Issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) and citations to individuals or businesses for non-compliance with environmental laws.<br>• Prepare and serve legal documents, including warning notices and fines, in accordance with local laws.<br>• Conduct follow-up visits to ensure compliance with issued notices and take further action if necessary.<br>Investigation and Reporting:<br>• Investigate environmental offenses such as illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and unlawful waste disposal by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case files.<br>• Use surveillance equipment, including cameras, to monitor and collect evidence of environmental crimes.<br>• Report findings to senior management and collaborate with legal teams to pursue prosecutions when necessary.<br>Court Proceedings and Legal Support:<br>• Prepare case files for prosecution, including collecting evidence, photographs, and witness statements.<br>• Attend court proceedings and present evidence as required to support legal action against environmental offenders.<br>Communication: Express information clearly and concisely to ensure understanding.<br><br>Flexibility: Adapt to change and work effectively in various situations and weather conditions.<br><br>Learning and Development: Participate in our training course to gain insight into daily duties, current legislation, communication, and interaction aspects of the role, earning a recognized qualification in environmental awareness.<br><br>If this sounds like you and youd like to begin your career with Kingdom Local Authority Services, we would love to talk to you!
