Environmental/Emissions Testing Intern

Apex Environmental cc is hiring an Environmental/Emissions Testing Intern in Durban, South Africa. The intern will support the Environmental and Emissions teams by ensuring equipment readiness, including cleaning, checking, and organizing. Responsibilities may expand to field training in environmental monitoring and emissions testing. A National Diploma or equivalent in a related field is required. The position is a 2-month contract, full-time, with potential for extension based on performance.
Apex Environmental is seeking a practical, reliable, and detail-oriented intern to support the Environmental and Emissions teams through dedicated workshop and equipment readiness responsibilities.


The role is designed to enhance the daily management of environmental monitoring and emissions testing equipment by ensuring that equipment is cleaned, checked, organised, prepared and ready before field teams are deployed.


The successful candidate will initially focus on equipment handling, cleaning, stock organisation, readiness checks, and safe storage. Once these core responsibilities are consistently met, there may be opportunities for field-based training and involvement in selected environmental monitoring and emissions testing reporting.

What We're Looking For

National Diploma, N6 or equivalent qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, Mechanical/Technical Studies, or a related field.
A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work in a workshop environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
Good organisational and communication skills.
Computer literacy.
Physically fit and able to handle field equipment.
A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
