Job Description

Nature's Classroom is seeking an Environmental Educator for immersive 5-day residential programs in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Candidates will lead outdoor explorations for students in grades 3-8, develop classes, and engage in team-building activities. Room and board are provided, with a salary of $570-$600 per week. Ideal candidates have a passion for teaching and working with children. This position is not remote, as it requires on-site presence.

A Legacy of Excellence:

Since 1973, Nature’s Classroom has been a leader in environmental education. We partner with around 300 schools each year, empowering over one million students through immersive outdoor experiences. We are seeking individuals to serve as teachers in 5-day residential programs emphasizing discovery, learning, and community awareness. Nature’s Classroom teachers work on a 1:12 ratio with students group ranging from 3rd-8th grade. Our teachers develop and present classes and activities in a variety of subjects.

Room and board is provided seven days a week for the length of contract. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed.

Fall semester runs from early September to late November, spring semester runs from Late February to early-June (exact dates vary by facility).

Nature's Classroom operates out of 3 sites:
• Massachusetts: Charlton, Hilltop, Pondside
• New Hampshire: Swanzey

Responsibilities and Duties
• Lead and teach in our immersive 5-day residential program, guiding students through exciting outdoor explorations and team-building activities.
• Develop and present classes in a variety of academic areas
• Special projects and light maintenance of the facility
• Evening activities and mealtime duties

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in any field (we also offer a few paid internships for those who haven’t graduated yet.
• A genuine love for educating children and a desire to make a difference.
• Bring your unique talents—whether it's music, storytelling, or other skills—to enrich our program.
• Energetic, dedicated & able to become involved in all aspects of the program
• Previous experience working with kids is a plus, but we value enthusiasm above all!
