Environmental Education Assistant

The City of Raleigh, NC is seeking a part-time, seasonal Environmental Education Assistant to support park operations and deliver outdoor recreation and environmental education programs. Park Specialist Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Park Specialist. This part-time, seasonal position involves supporting park operations, delivering outdoor recreation and environmental education programs, and ensuring exceptional visitor experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
• Perform facility opening and closing procedures
• Engage with park visitors and respond to their needs
• Ensure park facilities are maintained in a safe and clean condition
• Participate in outdoor recreation and environmental education programs
Required Skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently
• Valid Driver's License or City of Raleigh Drivers Permit
• Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in teaching/instructing and customer service
• Knowledge of risk management practices in outdoor recreation
• Understanding of outdoor recreation and environmental education principles
