Eastern Research Group, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Economist to support projects for the U.S. EPA and nonprofit organizations. We are seeking an environmental economist to support our work for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Office of Research and Development. This role involves providing research support on various projects for the U.S. EPA and nonprofit organizations. The projects include assessing national-scale damages associated with climate change impacts across diverse sectors of the economy, developing frameworks for damage functions, assessing the costs of adaptation to climate change, analyzing environmental justice implications of environmental decisions, evaluating the costs of alternative remediation measures for contaminated groundwater, and evaluating the sustainability of our systems for providing drinking water. The position will involve close collaboration with diverse practices across ERG and provide a myriad of opportunities for professional growth. Job location is flexible. The responsibilities will require literature reviews on diverse topics related to climate change damage functions, environmental justice, reviews of Superfund site documents, development of charts and other visual displays of data, and significant report writing and editing. Additionally, the position involves frequent collaborative work with employees from related disciplines, and data analysis and interpretation of scientific results will be required for some projects.
Responsibilities

Requirements
• Ph.D. degree with 0 to 10 years of experience or master's degree plus ten years of experience.

• Master's or doctoral degree in economics, environmental economics, resource economics, or a closely related field.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
,
• Applied experience with qualitative and quantitative research activities in an academic or professional setting.

• Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
,
• Background in the economics of environmental decisions within the United States.

• Experience developing written products for technical and non-technical audiences.
