HDR is hiring an Environmental Engineer in Training (EIT) in Anchorage, AK. HDR is seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Solid Waste team.
• The primary duties require a detail-oriented individual who will assist the design team’s development of solid waste design and construction documents using local, state, and national standards for landfills and other solid waste facilities.
• Design work, primarily using Civil3, may include; 3D modeling, piping networks, cross sections, cut/fill analysis, drainage calculations, utility plans, and other elements.
• Preparing calculations, reports, memos, cost estimates, permitting documents, and other documentation are also essential functions of the position.
• In addition, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver environmental solutions and infrastructure projects of various sizes and complexity.
• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
• Perform overall site layout, grading, u.tility layout and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or other design software experience
• EIT certification is strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression within 6 months of being hired.
• Willingness to support Construction Administration of client construction projects providing office engineering and inspections on-site during the construction season around Alaska.
• Experience in solid waste or working with the Municipality of Anchorage policies and procedures is preferred.
