Basic Job Functions:

The Environmental/EHS Engineer will be responsible for leading safety and compliance obligations for both the department and division. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining compliance with all environmental reporting requirements; implementing and managing environmental programs, mill-wide environmental training; actively engaging with production team to assist understanding and continuous improvement of environmental compliance; coordinating air, water, waste and radiation permits, licenses, rules, regulations and programs; and participating in community outreach efforts. Periodic travel is required for meetings, audits, and training.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in environmental compliance in a manufacturing or other industrial environment.
• Experience with implementation and maintenance of an ISO14001 system or equivalent EMS.
• Knowledge of air pollution control equipment, radiation detection equipment, CEMS equipment, water & wastewater systems or monitoring equipment including their design, operation, and maintenance.
