Job Description

Stohl Environmental, LLC is hiring for entry-level positions in Environmental Consulting/Monitoring in Buffalo, NY. The role involves training in hazardous material identification and compliance monitoring for abatement projects. Candidates need at least 1-2 years of college education and a reliable vehicle for local travel. The job requires flexibility in hours and offers comprehensive benefits for full-time employees. Details regarding the positions:

1. Entry level positions- Internship or Entry Level Full time

2. Environmental consulting / monitoring for asbestos, lead-based paint, or microbial contamination, including public schools, utility companies and municipalities. In this position, you will be trained to identify hazardous materials and monitor and evaluate the performance of the abatement/remediation contractor.

You will be provided with extensive classroom and hands-on training that will give you a sound understanding of both Federal and NYS regulations, project management, and an understanding of the technical requirements for monitoring and evaluation an abatement/remediation project.

4.Responsibilities –significant, including monitoring compliance of abatement contractors with Specification documents and regulations, as well as air monitoring.

5.Requirements – To be considered for a Full Time permanent position, we generally require completion of at least 2 years of college. We need intelligent, self-confident, assertive staff, with the ability to read and understand Project Specification Documents. As to the technical training and NYS Certification, we have a well-developed program that is approved by New York State.

Interns should have finished at least 1 year of college, have a reliable automobile to travel to local project sites, and be able to work independently.

6.Start date – immediately – start with a week of classroom training– (possibility of a later start date if someone has a scheduling conflict)

7.Training – 2 levels – technical training, we pay for a 5 day NYSDOH certification class that will allow you to be certified(licensed) as a NYS Project and Air Monitor. Classroom training is followed by on-site training with an experienced Project Monitor. Then back to the classroom at the Stohl Environmental office for additional training.

8. Pay – Full time staff start at a compensation level commensurate with their education and experience.

·Mileage reimbursement for travel to project sites

·Working hours/Schedule – We need people who are flexible. Whenever abatement is happening at a client site, a Project Monitor must be there. This means that daily start/stop times can vary. One week you might work 8AM-5PM, and the next day 3PM to midnight. Some projects require OT on short notice.

·Automobile Required – Most assignments are within 25 to 30 miles of our office. Applicants are required to have a reliable vehicle to commute to and from project sites.
