Job Description
Environmental Resources Management is hiring an Environmental Consultant for Contaminated Sites Management. The role involves managing environmental fieldwork and collaborating with clients on sustainability projects. Candidates should have a relevant degree, fluency in Italian and English, and experience in environmental consulting. The position is flexible with a mix of on-site and remote work, requiring travel within Italy and occasional office visits in Milan.

ERM Italy is seeking a motivated Consultant with a passion for sustainability to join our growing Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation Team in Italy.
The role will be a mixed of on-site and desk-job. Our offices are based in Milan, and we expect the consultant to be able to travel and be in the office when needed although we offer flexible working arrangements as well.
Responsibilities:
• Preparation, management, and execution of environmental field work in contaminated sites’ investigation and remediation projects
• Conduct field work, including groundwater, soil, soil vapor, air, sediment, and surface water sampling, soil logging, remediation performance monitoring
• Oversee subcontractors during soil drilling and installation, operations, and maintenance of remediation systems.
• Assist in environmental data quality control, interpretation, visualization, and reporting
• Focus on project delivery, supporting the project managers. Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
• Communicate with all project stakeholders: colleagues, subcontractors, laboratories, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during project preparation and field activities.
• Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, and cost estimates
About you:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental discipline such as earth sciences, environmental sciences, hydrology/hydrogeology, geology, geochemistry, or environmental engineering.
• Fluency in Italian and English, both spoken and written. Working knowledge of another language will be considered a plus.
• Previous work experience as environmental consultant and field manager/field technician.
• Knowledge of Italian environmental legislation, especially concerning Contaminated Sites Regulation.
• Motivated for field work, and willingness to travel primarily within Italy.
• Valid Italian driver’s license.
Other skills:
• Proactive and detail-oriented with pragmatic aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
• Team player with the ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently under minimal supervision.
• Effective organization and analytical skills, and good communication skills both verbal and through written technical reports.
• Strong commitment to health & safety, including following established health & safety protocols.
• Knowledge of GIS software and Data management tools will be considered a plus.
